Sambo to flag off 16th Abuja Motor Fair on October 21, 2014 / in Metro 6:45 pm / Comments


THE Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo will lead other dignitaries from the public and private sectors to declare the 16th  edition of the Abuja International Motor Fair open on Thursday. The Fair which kicks off on Tuesday October 22nd,  at the Eagle Square, Abuja will parade over 25 participants from Nigeria and abroad.

Disclosing this during a media briefing, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu-Chairman of the Organising Committee of the fair said, having the fair declared open by the vice President underscores the seriousness of the Federal Government in encouraging and supporting every effort geared towards developing the automotive industry in Nigeria, especially now that it has come up with a new policy aimed at transforming the sector for the benefit of all stakeholders. .

Mr. Agwu who is also the Managing Director of BKG Exhibitions Limited-Organizers of the Fair noted that the presence of the Vice President will go a long way in reinforcing the aims and objectives of the show which is the fast tracking the development of the automotive sector of in Nigeria. His presence according to the Managing Director would give the needed encouragement and boost to existing and potential investors in the industry.  .

“The platform of this event will offer a litmus test to the shape of things in the industry with the current paradigm shift in the sector as the automobile is undoubtedly the primary yardstick of success for any auto exhibition. This means auto enterprises showcasing at any exhibition must ensure visibility and wholeness and, not leaving anything to chance”. The edition is loaded with a whole lot of content that is designed to showcase the strength and resilience of the participants as well as create an educative and fun filled atmosphere for all those that will be visiting the show.

Continuing he said, “the reinvigorated auto policy no doubt caught some stakeholders unprepared, confused and some highly prepared. These various states have caught some on the wrong foot and they needed to stay afloat and the ready ones; all need to show that they are all ready to play big in the new era. It is this unique opportunity that the 16th Abuja International Motor Fair has been packaged to provide to all the Stakeholders.   Therefore showcasing amongst others at the event will ultimately show the state of preparedness or otherwise of participants. This does not apply only to the automobile companies but equally to those which services and or products complement the automobiles because the incidence of the policy falls on all of them.

With the theme this year, which promotes the culture and attitude of self- belief and self –confidence, the Organising Committee head also noted that aside the known strong brands that will be at the show, a few others will be debuting, therefore creating an ambience for the debutants to rub shoulders with the big boys, which will further expose the debutants to the workings of the industry.

This edition will show not only new entrants from the various brands, but also the hot spot products in the market. All these exhibits focus on displaying the new achievements and new breakthroughs in various aspects, particularly the indigenous ones.”

“With our reach, a high powered delegation from the Federal Government is expected to lead the inspection of automobile brands and the parade of stands. At least for 16 years, we have been able to create a comprehensive automobile exchange platform drawing global attention. We believe that with high attention from all levels of government leaders, joint efforts of sponsors and organizers, strong supports from the Motoring journalists and people in all fields, and powerful market and social demands, the Abuja International Motor Show will be better and better in the future.”

The entire days of the Fair have been laced with lots of crowd pulling fun and side attractions. Visitors, Exhibitors and the general public that would bf fun-filled days at the fair arena; adding that this will be a landmark and a benchmark in auto show business in sub-Saharan Africa’. Each of the nine days that the fair will last is loaded with activities and events that will make this edition remarkably different and we intend to improve and add on this in subsequent editions, Mr. Agwu, revealed further.
