PORT HARCOURT—Rivers State Police Command, yesterday, confirmed the discovery of the corpse of Dr. Samson Okpara, who was kidnapped last week in a cassava farm at Borokiri area of Port Harcourt.

State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, who confirmed the discovery to Vanguard, said the corpse had since been moved to a morgue.
He said two other doctors kidnapped at
separate times in the state had been released.

Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has enjoined All Progressives Congress, APC, not to politicize the abduction of Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, an aide to the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, who was taken hostage last Sunday at Kaa in Khanna Local Government Area of the state.
State chairman of the party, Mr. Felix Obuah, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Jerry Needam, condemned the abduction.

He further denied allegation that his party was behind it.

The PDP, while absolving its members of any complicity in the kidnap of Mr. Ndigbara and other acts of violence in the state, admonished Governor Rotimi Amaechi and APC to always allow security agencies do their work than wallow in what he described as fruitless suspicion.
The party further called for the immediate and unconditional release of Freddy and urged youths in the state to refrain from violence and acts inimical to peace and development.
